Continuing our London theme for London design week, we are going to give you a whistle stop tour of the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour.
A visit to the Desgin Centre is pretty much THE perfect day out for anyone who loves interior design. Home to over 600 of the worlds most prestigious interior design brands, you can while away the day, gathering samples and brochures for; fabrics, wallpapers, trimmings, rugs, lighting and furniture. Not to mention the gorgeous bathroom suppliers. Some of our favourite showrooms to visit are; Turnell & Gigon for gorgeous fabrics, Cole & Son for exceptional wallpapers, Porta Romana for the worlds most beautiful lighting and Interdesign for stylish modern furniture.
With so much to see you are going to need a break and luckily there is a number of cafes to grab a scrumptious coffee or light lunch. During design week, there is also pop up restaurants and bars throughout the harbour.
Finally, at the end of the day you can swing by the design bookshop and flick through the pages of some of the most inspirational design books by top interior designers. A purchase from here is a great way to take some of the inspiration of the day home with you.
If you are a London local you may even consider joining the Design Club. A yearly membership allows you access to the gorgeous space that includes a design library, work station facilities and tables/sofas for holding meetings and entertaining clients. If you are just starting out as an Interior Designer and don’t have your own offices, the Design Club is a great way to impress clients with a stylish, comfortable place to meet.
The Design Centre is also home to the prestigious KLC design school. The design school comes highly respected in the interior design industry and what better place to study than surronded by the constant inspiration of the harbour showrooms?! The shool offers everything from diplomas to one-day courses in Interior design, hand drawing, CAD and much more.
